Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services. It is a method which is used to deliver Information Technology services by which resources are retrieved from the internet through web-based tools and applications. Cloud-Based Storage makes it possible to save files to a remote database rather than keeping them on an unreliable personal hard drive or a local storage device.

It is called ‘Cloud Computing’ because the information which is being accessed is found in “the cloud” and not requires a user to be in a specific place to gain access to it. Such a system allows employees to work remotely. Companies providing cloud services enable the users to store files and application on remote servers and then access all data through the internet.

Cloud Computing services are divided into three broad categories and they are - Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). SaaS is expected to experience the fastest growth, followed by IaaS.

Software as a Service (SaaS): SaaS involves the application of software over the internet on demand and typically on a subscription basis to customers. Licenses are provided typically through a pay-as-you-go model or on-demand. This rapidly growing market could provide a great opportunity.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Infrastructure involves a service an instant computing infrastructure, a method for delivering everything from operating systems to servers. IaaS is the most basic category of cloud computing services

Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS is considered to be the most complex layer in cloud computing in comparison to the other two layers. It refers to cloud computing services that supply an environment on-demand to manage software applications, developing delivering and testing.

Cloud computing provides the ability to use software from any device through a native app or a web browser. This results in enabling the user to sync their files and settings to their other devices in a completely seamless manner. Cloud computing services also make it possible for users to back up their music, files, and photos instantly ensuring that the files are immediately available in case of a hard drive failure.

All cloud computing devices work differently depending on the type of service provider and their expertise. Most of them provide a friendly, browser-based dashboard by making it easier for professionals, developers and regular users to order resources and manage them.

Cloud computing is used to create apps and services, to store, backup and recover data, host websites and blogs, stream audios and video, deliver software on demand, analyze data for patterns and make predictions, etc. This has truly revolutionized the way brands and businesses manage their workspaces.
